Mr. Karl C. Saunders
Managing Director
Mr. Saunders graduated from Duke University, with honors, in the top 10% of his class. He is a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Medicine where he received his MD degree. He completed a five-year residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Mount Carmel Medical Center and Columbus Children’s Hospital, now Nationwide Children’s Hospital. He returned to business school and graduated first in his class from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University in 1996, receiving an MBA with honors.
Mr. Saunders has served as a Director of various public and private corporations, chaired the Audit Committee of Unizan Financial Corporation with $ 3.6 billion in assets and was a designated Financial Expert. He has been an active entrepreneur, has actively participated in mergers and acquisitions and has over 20 years’ experience managing investment accounts. He previously served on the Board of Directors of The Madeira School in McLean, Virginia, where he chaired the Finance Committee. He has served on the Vestry and as Treasurer at Saint Thomas Church Fifth Avenue in New York City.
As an active orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Saunders served as President (1993-2020) of Orthopaedic Associates of Zanesville, Inc., He left Orthopaedic Associates and the medical field in 2021.
Other interests include martial arts, music, strength and conditioning.
